Roadways
The Roadways Committee is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all of the roads within Indigo
Ranch, from the Edge of Butera to the end of each cul-de-sac. This includes the gates and structures
within the entranceway to Indigo Ranch. Additionally the committee is responsible for Indigo Ranch
property frontage along Butera and Walnut Creek Drive.
Problems with the gate mechanisms, keypad entry control or illumination of the entrance area are taken
care of as they occur. The committee periodically surveys the roads and roadside areas of Indigo Ranch
checking for:
- Road surface and road edge damage
- Silting and blockage in roadside drainage ditches and culverts
- Erosion and other damage to the major land drainage culverts that pass under the roadways
- Condition of roadside signage and the need for repair/replacement
Based on the survey results, persistent maintenance problems, and projected wear out of equipment, the
committee prepares a prioritized list of projects and associated cost estimates which provide the basis for
a multi-year planning budget. This planning is coordinated with the Indigo Ranch Management Board at
monthly meetings and budget planning sessions.
Maintenance projects which require intensive labor and/or specialized skills or equipment are competed
and contracted out. Simpler projects such as Sign Replacement of filling in eroded areas are typically
performed by committee members and other Indigo Ranch volunteers on scheduled “Work Days”
